Before You Dive In

Your First Lesson Is Not a Test.

It's a beginning.

There are no tryouts here. No auditions. No pressure to perform. Just you, the water, and Suzi — ready to meet you exactly where you are.

We Don't Test the Waters.

Some swim programs treat the first lesson like an audition — sizing you up, sorting you into levels, deciding if you're ready. That's not how this works. Your first lesson is simply the first step of something that belongs entirely to you.

"Every swimmer starts somewhere. Yours starts here."

A few things to know before you arrive.

Arrive calm.

If your child is nervous, that's okay. Suzi has seen every kind of nervous. You don't need to prepare a speech or manage their feelings in advance — just show up, and let the water do its work.

Wear a swimsuit. Bring a towel.

That's really it. No special gear required. A comfortable swimsuit, a towel, and an open mind. Goggles are welcome but never required for the first lesson.

Don't swim on a full stomach.

A light snack an hour before is fine. A big meal right before is not. Give your body a little space before getting in the water.

Leave the expectations at the gate.

Progress looks different for every swimmer. Some children take to the water immediately. Others need time, repetition, and patience. Both are completely normal. Suzi celebrates every step.

Parents: you're welcome to watch.

Parents observe from poolside. After each lesson, Suzi shares what was covered and how to reinforce it at home. Water safety is a family skill — what you learn together continues long after the lesson ends.

Location is shared after booking.

Lessons are held at a private heated saltwater pool in Jacksonville Beach, nestled under a beautiful oak tree. The exact address is provided once your package is purchased and your release form is complete.

"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever."

— Jacques-Yves Cousteau

This Is Something Else.

This isn't a swim school with a waiting room and a clipboard. It's a private pool under an oak tree in Jacksonville Beach, with a teacher who has been falling in love with helping people find their place in the water since 1985.

"The water is warm. Suzi is ready. All you have to do is show up."
